We’re Hiring : WordPress Developer

We are seeking a talented developer to join us at The Pixel Parlour and help serve our growing client-base. This is an opportunity to become part of a successful agency and work as part of a small but ambitious team delivering a range of interesting digital projects. Our clients include start-ups, charities, local government and private enterprise and their requirements are equally varied, so this is a role that will always be offering new development challenges.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in developing for WordPress but all-round PHP and JavaScript skills are also desirable. Visual design abilities aren’t required but a good working-knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop will be essential for working with the outputs from other team members. Most importantly, in a technology landscape that’s always changing, we’re looking for someone with the interest and ability to learn and stay at the cutting edge.

Primarily you would be picking up from the work of our front-end developer, turning the HTML style guides and page layouts they produce into working websites integrated with WordPress. Familiarity with HTML5/CSS3 and common Responsive design techniques will be useful here and the ability to handle small pieces of additional front-end development would be a great help.

The role would initially be freelance on a project-by-project basis, but we anticipate this evolving into a full-time position over the next few months (although there is flexibility here if you would prefer to retain a more part-time freelance role). We are offering a competitive hourly rate based on experience and an annual profit share. For those who choose to work regularly with us on-site, travel expenses will be covered and you’ll have a shiny new iMac waiting for you plus as much tea as you can drink!
